The Alligator Pass

The Machado Method

The Breakdown:

“The Alligator pass is when your try to connect your shoulder with your opponents knees”. You are able to obliterate his guard with a climbing pressure that lets you walk right through. Knowing when to attack the opposite side can give you the advantage of surprise.

This pass is a pressure pass and the goal is to stack your training partner’s leg to one side and apply pressure so you perform the pass.

Goal: Pass the guard
Base position: Open guard (top)
Grip: Bottom leg and hip
