As a beginner, you should know that there are many different styles and techniques to wrap your hands. Everyone has a method that works best for them based on their own needs. When you start to train, you’ll also develop your own style, and that’s okay. But for now, you can follow these steps to get started. If your trainer prefers that you use their method, please follow their lead.

Step 1:

Unroll your hand wraps.

Step 2:

Attach your hand wrap loop and pull the slack across your hand. Make sure you have the correct side facing up! Always go across the back of your hand.

Step 3:

Pull the the slack underneath your hand. Wrap your wrist 3 times, ending on your thumb side. Don't over tighten, as your hand will swell up slightly when you train.

Step 4:

Starting from your pinky side, wrap your knuckles 3 times. Come down from the back of your hand, around the wrist and return to the thumb position.

Step 5:

From the thumb position, wrap between your fingers. Once through EACH finger, wrap around your hand and back down to return to wrist position.

Step 6:

From the wrist position, wrap over top of your thumb. From underneath your thumb, wrap over top of your hand and return to wrist position. 

Step 7:

From the wrist position, wrap over top of your thumb again. BUT this time pull the wrap underneath your hand and across your palm.

Step 8:

From there, wrap around your knuckles 3 times and return to an over top wrist position.

Step 9:

Wrap the remainder of your wrap around your wrist, making the last 3 loops nice and snug, then lock in the velcro.

Step 10:

That's a wrap!

We know it seems silly to say, but you NEED to wash your hand wraps. We’ve all endured that rotting garbage smell coming from someone’s sweaty gear. Don’t be that guy, treat your hand wraps like your socks and underwear, wash them after every use.  Protect them with wash bags (like this one) or regular underwear mesh wash bags.
