A member of the Machado Family who created The Machado Method, Carlos Machado has devoted more than 50 years of his life to the ‘Gentle Art’ of Jiu Jitsu and holds a 9th Degree Black Belt. The Machado Brothers: Carlos, Roger, Rigan, Jean and John are cousins to the Gracies and began their jiu jitsu journey under the tutelage of mainly Carlos Gracie Jr. They’ve also trained with Helio Gracie, Carlson Gracie, Rolls Gracie, Rickson Gracie, Crolin Gracie, Rilion Gracie and his brothers. The Gracies and Machados are considered pioneers in bringing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to the U.S. Carlos, who awarded Chuck Norris his black belt in Jiu Jitsu, runs his academy, RCJ Machado Jiu Jitsu, in Farmers Branch, Texas.
